About FUBA Workers' Comp
FUBA Workers' Comp fulfills the insurance needs of a broad range of Florida-domiciled businesses through our partnership with the Florida Citrus, Business & Industries Fund (FCBI or the Fund). FCBI has operated in Florida since 1977 under the name "Citrus Self-Insurers Fund," writing workers' compensation primarily for citrus packing and related agricultural businesses. In 1999, the Fund was endorsed and sponsored by the Florida United Businesses Association (FUBA), at which time the Fund changed its name and began writing many other types of businesses. Today the Fund markets itself as FUBA Workers’ Comp.
The Fund has experienced tremendous growth during the last several years, with earned premium of $6.3 million in the 2001/02 Fund Year, $12.5 million in the 2002/03 Fund Year, and $26 million in the 2003/04 Fund Year. FUBA Workers' Comp continues to grow, and currently maintains $34 million in annual earned premiums, while servicing approximately 4,000 Florida employers.
