Our New Fund Year Begins April 1, 2010
FUBA Workers' Comp (coverage provided through the Florida Citrus, Business & Industries Fund) has a common anniversary date of April 1st. The Florida Insurance Code requires us to give 45 days' advance notice to policyholders who are being renewed by the Fund, and to those policyholders who do not meet our eligibility requirements and are being non-renewed.
We are mailing you a listing of your account(s) that are being offered a renewal policy, as well as those that are not being renewed for the 2010-2011 Fund Year, which begins on April 1, 2010. Policies bound 2/16/10 to 3/31/10 are automatically renewed for the 2010-2011 Fund Year and will not appear on this list.
As your insureds pay their renewal invoices, we will periodically email you updated lists showing which accounts have paid, along with your agency’s copies of their policies. You may use these lists to issue Certificates of Insurance. Insureds who do not pay their renewal invoice by the March 15, 2010 due date will be put into cancellation and their coverage will expire on March 31, 2010.
If you have any policies that are not eligible for the 2010-2011 Fund Year renewal, we will enclose current loss runs. The coverage for these policies will terminate on March 31, 2010.
We thank you for your business and look forward to serving you this year.

We Have Streamlined Our Quoting Process
FUBA Workers’ Comp has made it easier than ever to do business with us. We have streamlined our quoting process to make submitting and binding a cinch.
Here’s what new for 2010:
- The FCBI Supplemental Application and Participation Agreement (“Supplemental Application”) is now only one page and no longer contains the blue text. This means that the form may be sent via email or downloaded directly from our website. We still need original signatures, but there is no need to call us for supplies.
- The updated FCBI Supplemental Application no longer needs to be notarized. The insured’s signature and the producer’s (or witness) signature are still required, but these signatures do not need to be notarized. (Please note that the Acord form still requires notarization.)
- FUBA (the sponsoring trade association) member dues can now be collected in one check with the workers’ comp premium downpayment.
- We will now accept insured checks for the FCBI downpayment/FUBA dues. Checks should be made payable to FCBI and will be processed electronically. Agency checks and/or certified checks are no longer required.
- All documents that are required to process the quote will be attached to the quote as PDF files (i.e., consent to excess rate forms, credit applications, other forms).
[Please note: Until further notice, we will continue to accept the old versions of the FCBI Supplemental Application – as long as they are the original with the blue text on it. We will also still accept agency checks to bind and/or 2 checks, one for the downpayment and one for FUBA, the association, dues.]
With business this easy, why wouldn’t you make FUBA Workers’ Comp your first choice? Send us your submissions today!

We are proud to spotlight The Crockett Group in this issue of FUBA in FOCUS. Established in Vero Beach the spring of 2008, The Crockett Group is a fairly young agency and joined FUBA in July of that same year. Since that time, they have quickly assimilated into our agency force and are rising to the top!
Owner Helen Crockett, with 21 years experience in the business, is committed to doing business the “old Vero Beach” way, which means knowing and developing relationships with each of their clients. Instead of relying on automated phone messages, The Crockett Group continues to talk one-on-one with their clients, so they are aware of their clients’ needs and can service them quickly and thoroughly.
Employing a staff of six, The Crockett Group’s team is comprised of very experienced agents and CSRs, with experience levels ranging from 16 to 21 years in the insurance business. One new producer is beginning a second career after 20 years in the citrus industry which certainly helps with their agricultural clients – a large portion of their policyholders.
When they are not busy writing all lines of P & C and personal (with the exception of health) in the “Treasure Coast” area, The Crockett Group is very active in civic activities, volunteering their time with the local homeless shelter, Care-net and the Christian Business Association.
“We enjoy the ease of working with FUBA,” Jim Crockett tells us, “and our underwriter Jeff Bolling's extremely fast-turnaround for quotes, the great support staff, and our marketing rep, Christie.” Christie Thomas, who holds that title, feels the same. “They’re great,” she says. “I have really enjoyed visiting them and getting to know them over the last year and a half.” FUBA agrees and looks forward to growing with The Crockett Group for many years to come.
