Meet the latest addition to the FUBA Family

We are pleased to announce that Jim Harrison has joined the FUBA family as a Marketing/Sales Representative.  Jim has an extensive background in sales and marketing and will service agencies in the southwest portion of the state.

Jim joins our existing sales team of Ashley McWhirter and Christie Thomas.  With the continued growth of the Fund, we believe this addition will allow us to continue offering the personalized service that has become a hallmark of FUBA Workers’ Comp.

We are pairing each Marketing/Sales Representative with a designated Underwriter so that the team assigned to your agency will deliver consistent and uniform service.

You should have already been contacted by our Marketing Department if your Underwriter or Sales Rep is being changed, but please call us if you have any questions.

There have been some other changes to the FUBA family.  We are pleased to announce that two of our valued employees have accepted new positions within the company.  Many of you are very familiar and have worked closely with Beth Fredrick in Policy Services and Lynn Roberts in Accounting.  We ask that you join us in welcoming Beth to the Accounting Department and Lynn to the Underwriting Department as the Binding Coordinator.

If you have any questions about these changes, please contact a member of your team or call the Marketing/Sales Department at 888-262-4483.

Our Dividend Reward Plans are New & Improved

FUBA Workers' Comp has three exciting new and improved Dividend Reward Plans.  Insureds can now receive up to 39% back!

Qualifying submissions are automatically quoted with one of the new Dividend Reward Plans.  Existing policies qualifying for a Dividend Reward Plan have been endorsed to a new plan on their 2008/2009 Fund Year renewal.

If you are not sure whether or not an existing policy is currently on a dividend plan, please call us at 888-262-4483 or send us an email.

Renewal Recap

As you know, April 1st was a big day for us.  Although a little preliminary, at the start of the new 2008-2009 Fund Year, we are proud to say we have renewed the vast majority of our policies!

If you still have clients who have not paid their renewal invoice, it is not too late.  Reinstatements can be made up to 30 days past the cancellation date.  Remember that we can now take checks-by-phone; all policyholders need to do is give us a call and provide us will their banking information.  The funds will be electronically transferred from their bank accounts.

We thank all our agents who helped our insureds pay on time.  Your one-time bonus of an extra 2% on your insureds’ initial renewal payment, on top of your regular commission rate, will be on the way next month!

FUBA Who's Who

Christie Thomas

Although it has been said that you can’t go home again, Christie Thomas, a native of St. Augustine, Florida, has returned to her roots.  After living in Tallahassee for 6 years, Christie moved to Jacksonville about a year and a half ago to become our Sales Rep for the east coast.

Christie joined FUBA in 2003 in our Policy Services Department.  She quickly became very familiar with NCCI data transmitting and was responsible for getting all policy data to NCCI until her move back home.

Christie loves spending time with her family now that she lives close-by.  “Aunt CC,” as she is known to many of her friends’ children, recently has taken up running and even completed a few 10 and 15Ks.  She is looking forward to this summer and the chance to scuba dive again – she has been certified for 12 years!

Christie’s committed to her goal of exceeding the personal service our agents have come to expect from FUBA.  “I really like being on the road and getting to know my agents” Christie tells us, “and I love the FUBA family.”

FUBA Association News

When your insureds join FUBA, our sponsoring trade association, they receive a complimentary all-in-one labor law poster which contains all required state and federal notices, including the “broken arm” workers’ comp poster.  Regular updates are provided to members at no charge.

After insureds’ workers’ comp policies renew with FUBA Workers’ Comp, policyholders are sent a renewal packet which includes a new sticker showing proof of coverage for their “broken arm” poster.  They do not receive another poster.

Should insureds wish to obtain a new poster, there is a $15 charge, plus $5 processing fee and local sales tax.  For more information, please contact Erin Schaffer in Membership at 888-262-4483, est. 113 or at eschaffer@fuba.org.
